Yesterday, at the construction site of the Biomass Coupled Natural Gas Centralized Heating and Comprehensive Energy-saving Demonstration Project in the Longban Mountain Block of Zhejiang Sui Chang Economic Development Zone, workers were busy installing and inspecting equipment in preparation for the upcoming trial operation.
According to the introduction, the project covering 15,000 square meters with a total investment of 120 million yuan, will install a 40 t/h low-temperature biomass chain-grate boiler, two 20 t/h natural gas boilers (for peak shaving), and supporting systems. Upon completion, it will provide centralized heating for over 20 enterprises in the zone.
Projects drive industry, and strong projects fuel a robust economy. Adhering to this principle, Suichang continues to expand its project portfolio—boosting new initiatives, optimizing existing ones, and scaling up overall capacity. Last year, it exceeded provincial “Thousand Projects, Trillion Investment” and municipal/county key project investment targets, facilitating the completion of major projects like Ruiyun New Energy and Qiangbang Industrial. From January to February this year, the county’s industrial investment surged 141.5% year-on-year, ranking first citywide.
Recently, nine Suichang projects were included in Zhejiang’s first 2025 batch of major “Thousand Projects, Trillion Investment” initiatives, spanning manufacturing, public welfare, transportation, healthcare, and education—with total investment of 7.97 billion yuan and annual planned investment of 1.05 billion yuan.
The Sui Chang County Bamboo Industry Common Prosperity Park is a comprehensive deep-processing base integrating bamboo carbonization processing and the research and development and production of bamboo products. It plays an important role in accelerating the enrichment of the people and the strengthening of villages. At present, the main construction in the park has been completed, and staff members are orderly dispersed in various workshops for indoor ventilation, fire-fighting pipeline installation, and painting work. The project is scheduled to complete the final acceptance inspection by the end of June this year, about three months ahead of the original plan, helping the project to start production and take effect early.
“Thanks to various policy supports, we have carried out automation upgrades and management system upgrades for the first phase of the enterprise project, forming an automated production line. This will further improve our quality control level and production efficiency and effectively reduce labor costs,” said Wang Qinqin, head of Lishui Ruiyun New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. “Our second phase project is accelerating and will soon be ready for trial production. Once completed, it will effectively extend the enterprise's industry chain and make our products more cost-effective.”
“We are accelerating the implementation of newly recruited projects and promoting the continued investment of major projects on the one hand. On the other hand, we are providing comprehensive services for relevant ongoing projects, offering full-process services in enterprise approval, financing, and acceptance to ensure effective investment by enterprises,” said Huang Wenbin, deputy director of the Zhejiang Sui Chang Economic Development Zone Management Committee.
Moving forward, Sui Chang will accelerate the improvement of the key project promotion mechanism, continue to promote the routine operation of service models such as “starting construction immediately upon land acquisition” and “final acceptance immediately upon completion”, vigorously guide relevant departments to plan, recruit, and store more large projects with great development potential and high economic value, and continuously promote project signing, landing, and operation to add more momentum to the high-quality development of the county’s economy and society.
